Garden Hose Reels
Garden hose reels from Claber and Hozelock: wall-mounted automatic reels that rewind themselves, a compact enclosed reel, and metal trolleys you wheel round the garden. A reel keeps the hose off the ground and out of the sun, stops kinks, and means it's ready to use next time.
Three types of hose reel
- Automatic wall reels come with the hose fitted and wind it back in for you. The Claber RotoRoll Evolution comes in 10m, 20m and 30m, with a Slow Rewind system and a bracket that swings through 180°.
- Compact enclosed reels keep the hose in a case, protected from sun and dirt. The Hozelock 2415 comes with 25m of hose, a tap connector, hose connectors and a nozzle, and can be wall-mounted or free-standing.
- Hose trolleys hold a longer hose and wheel it to where you need it. The Claber Metal 60 holds up to 85m of 1/2" hose, the Gemini up to 130m and the four-wheeled Jumbo up to 165m. Hose is sold separately.
How to choose
- Want it out of the way, and never wind by hand? An automatic wall reel.
- Small garden or balcony, and a ready-to-go set? The Hozelock compact reel.
- Long garden, or a longer or thicker hose? A trolley. They also take 5/8" and 3/4" hose, at shorter lengths.

Excellent product
I thought I had submitted a report about this but, yes, it is good and doing the job I bought it for, taking water from three or four large water butts to irrigate a polytunnel system of two ground lines feeding two rows of tomato plants. Just what I need.
Decided whilst my lawn was being levelled that I would pop a few sprinkles around the edge of the lawn spraying in. Now i just need the hose pipe ban to finish before I can start to use them.
