DESCRIPTION
What it is
The Claber 90351 is a 25m soaker hose made of porous rubber. Water seeps out through its walls along the whole length, straight into the soil, for long borders, hedges and vegetable rows.
How it works
Connect it to your tap or timer like an ordinary hose and lay it along the bed, snaking it round shrubs and plants. Turn the tap on gently, because it needs only 0.5–2 bar. Leave it on the surface, cover it with mulch, or bury it.
Why it works well
- Water goes straight to the roots, with very little lost to evaporation or run-off.
- The leaves stay dry, which helps against disease.
- It drains itself, so it copes with frost.
- Add a tap timer and it waters on its own.

Excellent product
I thought I had submitted a report about this but, yes, it is good and doing the job I bought it for, taking water from three or four large water butts to irrigate a polytunnel system of two ground lines feeding two rows of tomato plants. Just what I need.
Decided whilst my lawn was being levelled that I would pop a few sprinkles around the edge of the lawn spraying in. Now i just need the hose pipe ban to finish before I can start to use them.
