DESCRIPTION
What it is
The Claber Metal 40 is an all-metal hose reel that hangs on the wall or stands on the ground wherever you need it. It holds up to 85m of 1/2" hose and comes with two wall brackets, a universal hose connector and a hose clip. The hose is sold separately.
How it works
It comes as a kit and assembles without tools. Fix the two brackets to a wall and hang the reel on them. Connect your hose to the coupling on the drum, wind it on with the handle, and connect the inlet to your tap with a short lead. Lift the reel off the brackets when you want to take it down the garden, and it stands steadily on its frame.
Why it works well
- Metal stands up to years of use better than plastic reels.
- An epoxy finish protects the frame and drum from the weather.
- It keeps the hose tidy and off the ground, but isn't fixed in place.
- It takes 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" hose.

Excellent product
I thought I had submitted a report about this but, yes, it is good and doing the job I bought it for, taking water from three or four large water butts to irrigate a polytunnel system of two ground lines feeding two rows of tomato plants. Just what I need.
Decided whilst my lawn was being levelled that I would pop a few sprinkles around the edge of the lawn spraying in. Now i just need the hose pipe ban to finish before I can start to use them.
